the rules
they are to be followed.
01. No spamming or flooding.Meaning that you don't double-post, you don't destroy topics with unrelated comments, and you don't reply on your own topic to bump it up. However, if it has been over a week since the last reply on a thread in the RP Registry, you may bump it up, just once. We will warn you once. Second warning will be a ban.
02. No open fire.If you have anything against a fellow member, a mod or even an admin, discuss this privately. Do not create a ruckus amongst other members, and if you feel the situation cannot be worked out by yourself, contact a person in power through PM for help or advice. If you DO wreak havoc upon others on the forum, you are banned.
03. No insulting. It's all fine to go head to head with each other, and if you want to call each other names that's all fine as long as it's for good fun, but as soon as somebody becomes personally insulting, rascistic or whatever, you're in trouble. Be sure to treat each other with respect. You will be banned, be sure of that.
04. No interfering in RP sessions and stories. If you're not in the story, don't reply on it. It would be considered spamming or just being blatantly stupid. In other words, do not post in threads which are labeled closed, and do not do OOC posts in threads you are not involved in. Both are not very well liked, and will result in saying goodbye to this site.
05. No use of foreign languages. This forum is in English. Keep it that way. If you want to use a foreign language to speak to a fellow countrymember, do it through PM, and nowhere else. Every post must be able to be modded by every mod/admin equally. English is the language we all have in common.
06. Don't ask for anything illegal. No warez, appz, hacks, porn, or anything considered sick. You ask once, you will be told the rules. You ask twice, you are banned.
07. Create your topics with relevant titles.Don't name your topic "Help me" or "THIS IS COOL." This seems like common sense, doesn't it? Unfortunately, some people here don't know what common sense is. So, please, name your title something that pertains to your post.
08. Don't use your sig space for advertising. This site exists to share your works and most importantly, to have fun doing it. We're not here to host a banner for you so you can make money. People hate ads as it is, and having it underneath postings makes the site look too cheap. Also, ad servers (the one that the click-throughs go through) have a tendency to spider the source web site (that would be us) for email addresses, which would be exploiting our email addresses for spam. If you ignore this rule, you will be banned.
09. Try typing using correct grammar.Don't use l33t talk, or anything that's found annoying by members. We understand that not everyone here speaks perfect English. However, being a forum where writing skills matter in roleplaying, we heavily encourage that you try to spell correctly using correct grammar. It's ok to use l33t or some garbled language as a joke once in a while, but don't make it a habbit. It annoys everyone here, and will make your time on the forum short-lived.
10. Don't argue with a Moderator or Admin. We are here to provide the best experience for you and the general public. Please don't disagree with our actions. If you have been warned/banned/lectured by a mod, and heavily disagree, please don't lash out and fight back. It will make things worse. Contact an admin and discuss your issue intelligently. If you fail to do this, for example, by disagreeing without a reason and lash out at us, then we will not be afraid to just ban you and save us the trouble. Remember, we are willing to work with you, if you work with us first.
11. No disgusting or x-rated material in your sig, posts, or anywhere else while you're in the forums. Not even in links. The reason for this is that lots people view the forums in public places, and smearing offensive stuff all over the forum might alert others, physically around you, that you're nothing but trouble. If you're in doubt if it might offend others, then simply don't do it. Don't use images in your sig/avatar that clearly display signs of hate groups like Nazism and the KKK, even if meant as a joke.
12. Keep images in your sig under 550px in width.Images bigger than this can destroy the forum layout.
13. Don't create an account just for shameless plugs. We are not here to help your marketing campaign. If we see you with less than 10 posts giving away links and encouraging users to go to different places on the net, you will be banned. Even if you have more than 10 posts, and we feel that all you're doing is shamelessly smearing your good-for-nothing plugs on the forums, you will be banned.
14. Don't fill the staff's PM box with approval requests.Nor may you send a PM simply asking a staff member to look at the thread, as we all know the reasoning behind that. Making them go through PMs only wastes that time and annoys them, making them less inclined to approve. An exception to this rule may be made when the staff member you are PMing is a specific person whose approval you need, or your profile has gone unchecked for over 24 hours.
15. Use Readable ColorsWe have some people here with color blindness, and sometimes people seem to use colors that are unreadable either way. Try to use easily read colors as much as possible, and they often vary depending on the skins. Pay attention to which skin is the default skin, and make sure it can be read on that.
16. Back Up Your StuffMake sure you have all of your profiles or anything that you want to have for the future saved. Character profiles, weapons, anything that you might want to keep. Have it saved on your own computer. We try not to delete anything, but if a mistake happens, we are not liable,
17. Accounts and UsernamesYour display name for each account should be the same as your character’s name, last name and then first name. It should be proper format, meaning that the first letter of the first and last name should be capitalized. Any and all avatars, icons, and signatures should be blank or related to your character (preferably the latter for those of us who prefer to have visual aid as we rp). If you feel that it is necessary to have an account which is not related to your character, refer to rule 18.
18. Out of Character Accounts (OOC Accounts)If you feel that you need an account that is not related to your character with which to post in the OOC boards, such as discussion, hello’s and goodbyes, etc, then you may make a single OOC account. On this account you may have any avatars and signatures you please so long as they do not violate proboards TOS.
19. Face ClaimsIt is required on this forum that your character have a Face Claim. As this is an anime forum, your character’s Face Claim must be anime-styled as well. This means absolutely no real life face claims. In addition, 3D-styled anime face claims are disallowed as they detract from the feel of this being a One Piece-themed roleplay. Luckily, many of those 3D-styled fandom face claims can be found in 2D-styled anime if you put a bit of effort into looking for them. Perhaps try Zerochan.
In addition, you must know where your face claim comes from. If it is an original art of an original character, then you MUST credit the author. For example, if the character was one that was drawn by a Deviantart Artist, then when signing up for your face claim in your application you would need to put "Deviantart" for the Anime Series and for the character name, you would put the username of the person who drew the character. Also, when using original art, make sure that you have the permission of the artist. In the event that the artist feels that you stole their work by using it without his/her permission, you may be instantly banned from the forum. Thus, it is advised that you speak to the artist prior to using his/her art. If you do not know where your face claim comes from, then find a new face claim.
20. PostsA reminder that when you join a proboards forum and agree to the TOS, you are thereby giving your thoughts and/or ideas to the forum by posting. This especially includes guides, and universal creations which (in registering) you have given people permission to use. In posting, you are giving the site permission to read and enjoy that which you have to offer. If this is not okay with you please do not join this forum.
It is also within the dicretion of the site Administrators and her moderators "to delete or modify forum posts, revoke membership to the forum, block access to the forum, modify your account profile, or modify any User Content (as defined in Section 15 of the TOS) on the forum. "
In addition, I will remind you that posting ideas which are not your own is stealing. Be sure to have obtained permission from the creators and that you adhere to any conditions they set forth (issuing proper credit, etc). Violation of this may result in a ban from the forum.
21. Pirate CrewsPirate crews are left to members to regulate as they please. Crews may post up threads in the Crew Boards with their own crew layouts and however they please. Characters may only be on one crew at a time. That being said, no more than four members on a crew may possess a Devil Fruit. Crews may have at maximum ten members.
