[/i] for different situations. These systems are broken down into five ranges. These ranges are: Kicking, Punching, Trapping, and Grappling. All while techniques flow smoothly between the five. Jeet Kune Do is a very unknown style and the people that do know of its ways call it: "style without style" or "the art of fighting without fighting". Unlike more traditional martial arts, Jeet Kune Do is not fixed or patterned, and is a philosophy with guiding thoughts. It was named for the concept of interception, or attacking your opponent while he or she is about to attack. The creator of this hybrid style believed that combat was spontaneous, and that martial artist cannot predict it and only react to it. Jeet Kune Do teaches that the best defense is a strong offense, hence the principle of an "intercepting fist". For a person to attack another hand-to-hand, the attacker must approach the target. This provides an opportunity for the attacked person to "intercept" the attacking movement. The principle of interception may be applied to more than intercepting physical attacks. The subtle movement that an opponent may be unaware of may be perceived or "intercepted" and thus be used to one's advantage. This Hybrid style of martial arts should have ulitmate speed and non-telegraphic strikes. The attacks should catch the opponent off guard, throw them off balance, or leave the opponente unable to defend against further attacks. The concept behind this is that the Jeet Kune Do user initiates the attack without any forewarning, such as tensing the shoulders or moving the body and feet with adrupt unpredictable movements. In theory, the opponent will not have enough time to react. The key is that the Jeet Kune do user must keep their body and arms loose, weaving them slighty; only becoming tense upon impact. Any twitches or slight movements before striking should be avoided as they will give the opponent signs or hints as to what would be coming next, and they will be able to strike first while the user is preparing for an attack. Non-telegraphic movement is essential when using this style of fighting. The core concepts behind Jeet Kune Do very from master to master. It's a style with no true meaning or concept - hence the nickname behind it. But, for Alphonse, he takes concepts and movements from three specific fighting-styles. Those three are: Fencing, Boxing, and Mauy thai. Fencing; for it's fluid and unpredictable ripostes. Boxing; for it's great ability to adjust to most any fighting situation. And Mauy Thai; for it's perfect control over the entire body. [/i]; capable of taking out entire pirate ships with his glare alone. Of course these were all rumors, but no pirate crew attempted to discredit such a claim. Just hearing this caused the children to praise their father even more; they wanted to be just like him; hero of the weak. So, from that moment forward, the four siblings trained day in night in the way of Martial-Arts. Years passed and pirates; some respectable while others remained not so respectable came and left the little out of the way land mass. By this time the four siblings have decided what they want to do with their life's and how to reach their goals. So, without any hesitation, the boys left their home island in search of their true calling. Alphonse drifted the seas of the south while the other siblings went in the three corresponding seas. The years came and went, and Alphonse has now found himself as a ranking member within the Marines. Now, to this day, he sails the blue making sure peace and order is maintained, and by any means necessary. [/ul] [/blockquote] OOCNAME:

Jeet Kune Do || Martial arts | TECHNIQUES Name: Riposte Technique Type: Defensive Technique Level: ★ Description: Taking both offensive and defensive elements from both Boxing and Fencing. Alphonse has developed one technique that easily allows him to both parry and attack in one fluid motion. To achieve such feats; and easily. Alphonse watches his opponents movements; looking for even the smallest of openings, memorizing and following the breathing pattern of the enemy in question. Once he figures out these two crucial elements that's where the fluid Riposte actions take place. When the opponent attacks, he swiftly intercepts the attacking movement as soon as possible. In essence, he attempts to intercept the attack before it even ceases to be. Upon this taking place, Alphonse redirects the attack furthest away from his person all while attacking the opponents open body with swift jabs. The parry doesn't merely redirect the attack. It also knocks the opponents center of gravity out of sync causing them to ultimately stumble for the remainder of the turn.
Name: Feint Technique Type: Defensive Technique Level: ★ Description: Taking the intense, bloody, and overall savage nature of Boxing. Alphonse has gained ability past the typical feint. Normal feints are accessible to all forms of fighting. But within Alphonse's fighting arsenal. Feinting is something unimaginable and paranormal. Basic feints are maneuvers designed to distract or mislead; done by giving the impression that a certain maneuver will take place, while in fact another, or even none will. Alphonse amplifies this basic and easy to grasp concept on a x10 scale. When he feints, the passion of fighting emits from his body in a type of paranormal way; as if he's looking directly into the opponents soul. This being said, a type of after-image is left in his very wake as the feint is successful. This after-image of sorts isn't caused by Alphonse, it's caused by the opponent. They believe; with 100% of their very being an attack is heading in their direction; so they respond accordingly to the attack that never was. While they are responding, Alphonse takes that opportunity to strike with punches, kicks, elbows, and grapples. However, if the opponent is aware enough and seen this animalistic like ability enough times (two or more) the devastating after-image effect loses it's potency. In other words, it turns into an average misleading feint.
