Sergei looked to his left, looked to his right, standing up as he spotted a piece of driftwood against the beach. Walking over slowly, the wind kicking up in his clothes, a small buffet of sand swirling around him momentarily before dying down. Reaching to pick it up, pull it from its prison and when he did so the small almost pathetic looking twig was revealed. Not knowing any better he walked back over to Anne, a bit triumphantly he felt, throwing it down to her feet. ”Make it the greatest pole the world has ever seen! I want to catch a Kraken! No, two Kraken at the same time!” Wiping his index finger across his upper lip and scoffing a bit, Sergei seemed confident in the construction of this tool.
His eyes watching the skyline again, across the ocean that seemed almost impossible to traverse. The endless blue that made up the world, grinning at it with a wide white toothed smile before looking down at Anne again. His once triumphant twig had not been touched, giving an air of defeat to the entire situation. ”H-hey what’s wrong with that! That stick is special you know I can feel it, like it’s made from Adam Wood made even more hard by the intense battering of the ocean floor that it received! Sighing a bit. ”Okay maybe I am not cut out for this...” He admitted, looking down at his feet though not depressed merely kidding about the whole situation. |

"Eh, Boss." Anne wasn't sure what her senior expected her to accomplish with a twig barely as long as her arm. "Boss, you need something much, much bigger. Like this big." Anne hefted up her fishing rod, it's line still cast in the waters. "Otherwise you can't whip it and give it some distance into the water." She wished she could give him a demonstration but, well, her hook was already in the waters. If she kept tugging it out Anne would end up scaring away the fish.
Standing up from her spot and dusting off the sand on her rear, Anne practically shoved her fishing pole into his hands. "Hold this and stay here! I'll be right back!" She commanded before running off to the closest tree to try and pry one of it's branches off.

Nothing was happening, Sergei held the pole in his hands and almost instantly he began to feel bored. Bored as if he knew nothing would happen, he was just holding a stick that just so happened to have a string on the end that just so happened to be in the water. Closing his eyes halfway, giving a shifty look to Anne who scampered off as he was left alone feeling a bit taken for a ride. This couldn’t be all there was to it. Suddenly, however, as quickly as the boredom came to him it vanished as the string became taught and nearly pulled from his hands the rod a great force weighed down the end in the water. ”H-Hey! Uh...” Unsure of what to call this phenomenon, Sergei did what instinct told him to do and opposed the force, using a great heave from his muscles and all of the leverage he could gain by digging his feet into the sand and with a deep breath and one final might pull from the water came the catch.
Three inches. Total length, three inches, Sergei squinted as he attempted to analyze the fish with some precision. Unsure of how exactly it created such a large force, he looked left, right again, saw Anne and began to yell. ”Yeah! Check this out! Pretty good if I do say so myself Anne, you know, they say I am a natural at most anything I try you know. Fufufu.” Sergei, incredibly proud of himself and his quite... impressive... catch he had procured from the most bountiful of natures food supply lines, held the line up into the air to showcase his might and expertise in catching fish. |

Anne herself had been busy scurrying up a tree. Reaching the first branch, jumping to the second, twisting around to the third. Before she knew it the red head had reached the top. Poking her head out of the brush of leaves, she'd arrived just in time to feel a a breeze. Ah. Brushing back her red hair, now with pieces of stick and leaves sticking out of it, Anne took a moment to appreciate the scenery.
A lovely, populated beach. An ocean as far as the eye can see. Clear skies...just like back home. Well, technically, she was home. Anne was born in these waters. Of course she'd feel the most at ease here regardless of what island she was on.
Looking down, Anne could see her senior wave her fishing rod in her direction. And on it was...Ooh, he'd caught one! Quickly waving back, Anne dunked back into the tree.Grabbing a stick while leaping down branches, the red head landed on the ground and rushed over to her boss.
"You caught one!" She cheered, perfectly fine with stating the obvious. Anne didn't bother to mention it'd been one of the smallest fish she'd ever seen. The size of the fish wasn't important. Unless you planned to eat it anyway. Leaning in, hands on her hips, Anne smirked. "So, big guy, think you can catch another?"
